How to clean your Narval™ CC device?

Proper cleaning of your Narval CC device is essential for maintaining good oral hygiene.

Over time, deposits can accumulate on your oral appliance. Regular maintenance helps to limit this phenomenon and keep the device clean and functional.

Below are some simple steps for cleaning your Narval CC device on a daily basis, cleaning it more thoroughly twice a week, and habits to adopt (or avoid).

Steps for cleaning your device

Time required:

Approximately a few minutes daily.

What you will need:

A clean glass or small container
Lukewarm drinking water (not too hot)
A denture brush or a toothbrush that you only use for cleaning your Narval CC appliance
A clean towel
Twice a week: an antibacterial denture cleaner for orthodontic appliances

Daily cleaning (after each use)

1.
Remove it from your mouth and immerse it in lukewarm drinking water in a clean glass or container.
2.
Brush it thoroughly for at least 1 minute, paying particular attention to the inner surface. Use a dental brush or toothbrush that you use solely for cleaning your Narval CC appliance. Replace the brush when the bristles fray.
3.
Rinse well with clean, lukewarm drinking water.
4.
Carefully inspect your Narval CC appliance to confirm that it is visually clean (e.g., no visible particles remaining on the appliance). If necessary, clean the appliance again, repeating steps 2 through 4.
5.
Once clean, dry it with a clean towel and place it back in its storage box.

Deep cleaning (twice a week)

Clean your Narval CC appliance more thoroughly, using an antibacterial denture cleanser intended for orthodontic appliances.

1.
Read the instructions for the antibacterial denture cleanser carefully before use.
2.
Clean your Narval CC device following the instructions provided by the cleanser manufacturer.
3.
Rinse is well with clean, drinking-quality water.
4.
Dry it with a clean towel and put it back in its storage box.

Over time, the colour of the Narval CC aligner trays may change. This may be due to the acidity of saliva, coloured drinks, or how you care for your Narval CC aligners. This will not affect their performance.

FAQ on cleaning components

Over time, slight discolouration may occur. This may be due to the acidity of saliva or cleaning habits. This change in appearance will not affect the performance of the device.

No. DO not use toothpaste, pouthwash or soap. Only use lukewarm drinking-quality water, a denture brush or a toothbrush that you only use for cleaning your Narval CC appliance and a suitable antibacterial denture cleanser intended for orthodontic appliances, as recommended.

Simply resume your routine: clean daily after each use and clean more thouroughly with an antibacterial cleanser twice a week. If in doubt or if the device appears dirty, talk to your healthcare professional.
